Sarah Lester and Jamie Huggett take line honours
The first race of the 2013 / 2014 Villawood Properties triathlon series had representatives from the Endrance Team triathlon team from Geelong and from the Ballarat Triathlon Club in attendance. These groups provided the line honours wiiners in long course event with Sarah Lester (Geelong) and Jamie Huggett (Ballarat) in first place.
The Endurance Team travelled up from Geelong on Friday for a training camp with training sessions on Friday and Saturday before the race on Sunday. Post race the group was heading out for a ride to round off the weekend. The Endurance Team posted the following on Facebook on their return to Geelong -
"Just wanted to drop everyone from the Bendigo Tri Club a line and say thanks very much for housing our group for your event again on Sunday. Hugely enjoyable and we will be back again next year. Thanks to Kevin, Carol, Dave and all others from the tri club for making our weekend a great one."
Jamie and the Ballarat crew have been regulars at the Bendigo Triathlon Clubs first race of the series for a couple of years now. Talking to Jamie after the race he stated that his goals for the next couple of months include a big race in Sydney with the field including 2012 Ironman World Champion Pete Jacobs, then a half Ironman in Canberra in early December.
