MORE WINTER RESULTS

The Half Ironman World Championships were raced on the 30th of August. It’s a 1.9km swim, 90km ride & 21.1km run & was held in Austria. With a massive Hill climb mid-way through the bike, it was always going to be one tough course.

Leon Griffin had a great race and really pushed all the pros on the tough bike course, his finish time was 4:05.01 & ended up 19th overall (Top 20 in the world!!) It’s great to see Griffo doing well, with some more big races to come in the coming months, we can’t wait to see some more results coming your way Griffo.

The club also had Geoffrey Graham qualify for the 70.3 world champs in his age group. Geoffrey completed the course in 6:56.21. Geoffrey has a big few months of travelling Europe and Asia, before he ends up in Hawaii for the Hawaii Ironman in 6 weeks. We can’t wait to hear Geoffreys stories from his travels and racing in both World Champs when he gets home.
