Pleased to let you know I had my first Win this US campaign, taking the tape at the Rev3 event in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. The Olympic distance format is probably not my preferred length, however with my form on the rise and a nice week recovering from Timberman 70.3, I still felt I could be fresh enough to be a threat.
A pretty solid race across the board again in all 3 legs meant I was never too far from the front...and the only question was whether I'd emptied the gas tank too much the previous weekend.
In the end I had to call on the sprint legs I used to know well some 10 years ago when I was competing in the sprint events as a junior, and threw one too many surges in for David Thompson to match - taking the victory by a few seconds!
Leon's time was 1.53.05 for the Olympic distance (1.5km swim, 40km ride, 10 km run) event.
