Bendigo Triathletes bound for World Championships in London

Jac Tremayne (Club Coach) and Donna McCallum will leave for the United Kingdom in early September to compete in the 2013 London Age Group World Triathlon Championships Olympic Distance race on September 15th.  Jac and Donna completed four races to qualify high in their age groups.  The race will be staged on an almost identical course to the Olympic Games triathlon beginning in Hyde Park.

After one 1,500m swim lap of the Serpentine, athletes will go on to cycle the bike course – one of the most iconic triathlon bike courses in the world. The bike course is a 20km loop that will be completed twice. It features almost every single major London landmark including Wellington Arch, Buckingham Palace, The Mall, London Eye, The Tower of London, Whitehall and Big Ben to name just a few.

After a total of 40km on the bike, athletes finish off the competition with a 3 lap run around the Serpentine totalling 10km.

We wish Jac and Donna all the best!
